Today’s featured video is the NPR Music Tiny Desk concert of guitarist Paolo Angeli.

Angeli’s Sardinian Liturgy is one of the best things to come out this year.  You can read more about it here (LINK).

This video is a great opportunity to check out his homemade guitar and his signature sound.

Today’s featured video comes courtesy of Minim Experiment and their song “Between.”  The album it originates on, Dark Matter, was yesterday’s daily recommendation.

It’s a simple video, just a slow pan of a forest tree… but the image encapsulates the band’s sound.  There’s something very peaceful about their music, a stillness not unlike the tree, but even when the music does grow active and set in motion, it doesn’t really disturb the tranquility any more than do leaves fluttering in the breeze.

So, on that note, here’s that video…

I first came across today’s featured video back around the time I interviewed bassist Jasper Høiby for the Bandcamp Daily.  He has a travel bass built by luthier Jean Auray that the artist is able to disassemble quickly and take from tour stop to tour stop.  I always thought it was pretty cool to see in action, and meant to feature the video a while back when the interview first went up.

But here it is now…

There’s some good comments from Høiby about the bass, which you can check out on the YouTube page (LINK).

The music accompanying the above video is the song “Nine Lives” from the 2014 release Life To Everything, by the trio Phronesis, which includes Høiby, drummer Anton Eger and pianist Ivo Neame.

They have a new album on in 2016 called Parallax.  In addition, Høiby has a solo project out in 2016, too, called Fellow Creatures.  He talks about both of these projects in that interview, which you read on the Bandcamp Daily (LINK).

Today’s featured video comes courtesy of pianist Clemens Christian Poetzsch, whose song “For Fathers” accompanies the below video.  The song comes from Poetzsch’s solo set People and Places, which was released earlier this year on the Two Rivers Records label.
