New Tumblr Work Space post: Han-earl Park
As mentioned previously, I’ve begun a Bird is the Worm Tumblr page, which I’ve been referring to as Work Space. It will be a series of photos of artist work spaces… the places where the creative process takes shape and form. It is not meant to be a band photo or gear shots (you will notice that absence of musicians in all photos, and something more that close-ups of instruments). Its intention is to behave as a photo on a travel blog, to bring the reader into the space and connect with it, and, perhaps, to inspire the reader to return to their own creative space.
It will also usually include some embedded audio of the artist’s latest project and some various linking to other sites.
The new post is courtesy of Brooklyn guitarist Han-earl Park…

Enjoy!

John Crowley Work Space
There’s a new Work Space photo posted on the Bird is the Worm Tumblr site, featuring the creative space (and audio) of trumpeter Jon Crowley.
You can check those photos out by following this LINK.
I reviewed his 2011 release At the Edge, which you can read HERE.
His music hits the border between modern jazz and indie-rock, which sets up some nice elements in terms of solid melodies allowed to roam free and wide.
There isn’t a decent video I can post of Crowley performing live, but he does upload a lot of live material to both his Soundcloud and Bandcamp pages. Here’s a track currently on his Soundcloud page, from a December 2013 live performance at the Rockwood Music Hall…
And there’s also his Bandcamp page, where you can listen to some of his live performances (plus, he offers some free downloads from those performances), but his studio recording At the Edge is there, too.
Here’s a photo from his blog from a live show. Would’ve loved to have a video to post from this show…
That’s a great stage set-up. I believe it’s from World Cafe Live in Philly.
Have a great Sunday!
Cheers.
