These are videos that I like: Guillermo Klein y Los Guachos at the Newport Jazz Festival
Here is a video of Guillermo Klein and his Los Guachos performing the song “Va Roman” at the 2008 Newport Jazz Festival.
The song also appears on Klein’s 2008 recording Filtros. It’s an amazing album; uplifting in a profound and powerful way. Days like these, and we can use all the music like this we can get our ears on.
Go give the album a listen, and purchase it, on the Sunnyside Records Bandcamp page.
It’s also available on Amazon.

Yes: This Saxophone Kills Fascists
I just found this. It’s a free jazz set from saxophonist Arrington de Dionyso and drummer Sam Klickner. They call themselves This Saxophone Kills Fascists, and in addition to album titles that reference the tragically relevant “First They Came…” statement, the album covers are demonic images of Donald Trump.
I didn’t particularly enjoy this music, but it sure as hell connected. The November recording dates indicate that, in the aftermath of the election, these musicians hit a record button and everything they played came from the heart and with as much anger and fear and hope and every other damn thing they had inside dying to get out. That’s something I can relate to. Because, seriously, fuck this shit.
It’s on Bandcamp.
