Artist: Web Web
Album: Dance of the Demons
Label: Compost Records
Style: Spiritual Jazz
Favorite Track: “Land of the Arum Flower”
Music from: Munich, Germany
What I like about it: I enjoy how the quintet’s newest transitions to a spiritual jazz expression from a fun hard bop sound on their previous recording. I like how this music dances right from the first note and never stops. I like how this tuneful music retains that quality even when it expresses some ferocity. I like the addition of vocalist Majid Bekkas for this session, and how his voice enhances the sensation of music in motion, melodies destined to dance.
Your album personnel: Roberto Di Gioia (piano, synthesizers, percussion), Tony Lakatos (tenor & soprano saxophones), Christian von Kaphengst (upright bass), Peter Gall (drums) and Majid Bekkas (vocals, gembri).
