Today’s featured video is from Ryan Keberle & Catharsis, from their 2014 performance at NPR Music in the Tiny Desk Concert series. If you’re unfamiliar with it, basically musicians from all genres stop by the NPR offices and perform around the desk of All Songs Considered host Bob Boilen.
As is the tradition, we feature a video from the musician whose album was named Album of the Week on the most recent This Is Jazz Today column. Keberle’s Azul Infinito got the nod this time around, and while I typically prefer using a video that’s more current to the album, I can’t resist taking every opportunity to feature video from the NPR series. They’re just too fun.
Read more about Keberle’s new album, Azul Infinito (LINK).
Now, about that video…
Your video personnel: Ryan Keberle (trombone), Camila Meza (vocals), Eric Doob (drums), Mike Rodriguez (trumpet) and Jorge Roeder (bass).
Be sure to check out the nice write-up about Keberle put together by NPR’s Patrick Jarenwattanon (LINK).
Also worth mentioning, at the time of this show, Keberle had just released his album Into the Zone. It was my Pick of the Week from when I was writing a recommendations column for Wondering Sound. Read more about that album by following the LINK.
