Today’s featured videos are of is of saxophonist Rafael Karlen performing compositions that appear on his excellent 2014 release The Sweetness of Things Half-Remembered. That album earned the #3 slot on this site’s Best of 2014 list (go read it).
This first video is of Karlen, pianist Steve Newcomb and the Rosenberg String Quartet perform the composition “The Sweetness Of Things Half-Remembered” at the album Launch at the 2014 Brisbane International Jazz Festival.
Our second video is of a 2016 performance by Karlen, Newcomb and the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. They’re performing the composition “Fading Slowly.”
And if you want to check that album out (and I suggest you do), you can give it a listen, and purchase it, on Karlen’s Bandcamp page.
